Harri Heliövaaran had its match by Lloyd Glasspool with settling for second place in France at the ATP tournament in Metz.

The second-placed Heliövaara and Glasspool had not lost a single game in the tournament before the final, but the unplaced Jan Zielinski and Hugo Nys took the final 7–6 (7–5), 6–4.

– The final was tight today. The opponents played well and, especially in the first set, boldly close to the lines, which paid off. I have to say that they were a little bit better than us in every aspect today, Heliövaara commented in the Tennisliito press release.

With the place in the finals, Heliövaara rises to a record-high 14th place on the world list. Britti Glasspool rises to 20th place.

The pair has already been in the final six times this season. There is one win, from the ATP500 tournament in Hamburg.

– The new record ranking is starting to be hard currency. Let’s enjoy it. Yes, this end of the season will still be good, Heliövaara said.
