FC Ingolstadt 04 strengthens the central midfield with Lukas Fröde. The 28-year-old comes on a free transfer from second division club FC Hansa Rostock, for whom he made 33 appearances (five goals) as a regular last season.

“Lukas is a rock in the surf and a mental player with a strong header. As a seasoned second division professional and leading player, he has the ideal prerequisites to help us enormously as a team. We’ll have a lot of fun with him,” said sporting director Ivica Grlic.

Fröde added: “I’ve already worked with Ivo Grlic at MSV Duisburg and since then we’ve never completely lost contact. When the interviews showed me what role I could play for the team, it was clear to me: I want to take this step. I’m overjoyed and will do everything I can to repay the trust that has been placed in me on the pitch. I am now really looking forward to the entire FCI and the new exciting task.”

In the meantime, Hansa Rostock has presented a new left-back in Alexander Rossipal from SV Waldhof Mannheim and has given him a contract until 2025. “Alex is a robust and strong full-back who can also provide impetus on the offensive with his target play. With him we get a mentality player who is characterized by a good passing game and tackles and works maturely and balanced in all phases of the game – this clarity is also reflected in his character,” said sporting director Kristian Walter.
