Hans Klok thinks it is a shame that Paul de Leeuw is helping his Ranking the Stars program into the abyss. The illusionist understands the fierce criticism of the celebrity show. “It really is so long-winded.”
It is very understandable that Paul de Leeuw is currently under fire because of the saddest season of Ranking the Stars ever, says Hans Klok, who has regularly participated in the program. He out in the Weekend quite strong criticism of the troubled presenter, who clearly needs to drop his TV baby Ranking.
Long-winded
Hans understands that the viewer has dropped out. “Partly because of the far too long introduction of the participants, I think. Paul spends twenty minutes introducing everyone before the program starts. That could be half as short.”
He continues: “What they also don’t score with is that viewers don’t know half of it. I often have no idea myself. A day before the recordings I always have to google who these people are, for example people who participated in B&B Vol Liefde.”
Forget
You really need to put bigger names there, says Hans. “These are those participants who will be forgotten in a year’s time. I think you have to make it with really famous people. The program has missed the mark with that.”
Would he still participate? “Do you know what it is? They always call when I still have an empty agenda, and then it’s like: yes, that’s good. But now I have often thought on Saturday evening after my performance at The Harbor Club: oh help, Ranking again tomorrow! I don’t really feel like that.”
