Hans Klok confirms that he was in discussions about a role in Yvonne Coldeweijer’s daily program De Juice, which ultimately did not materialize. Talpa scattered tons. “Two!”

According to Yvonne Coldeweijer, one of the reasons why De Juice was never broadcast is because there were simply not enough celebrities willing to participate. According to her, there were advanced conversations with reality star Tamara Elbaz, media journalist Mark Koster and illusionist Hans Klok. The latter confirms this on camera Show news.

Hans responds

Hans didn’t know that Yvonne would bring this out. “Yes, I was actually surprised, because it was the first time that my name appeared in it. I was done with the whole format very quickly. I didn’t like it at all. I was asked to shoot a pilot, a test episode, and I did that.”

He continues: “My expectations were that I would make beautiful documentary-style interviews as a kind of raging reporter, for example with Cirque de Soleil if they came to the Netherlands. Then they initially said on the phone: ‘Yes, we’ll see about that’, but then I sat there…”

Gossip show

And what happened when Hans was sitting there? “Then I immediately realized that it was actually about gossiping. Everyone gossips, including me, but between people and not on television.”

He continues: “Very soon you forget the camera and you start saying things that afterwards you think: I better not say that, because especially in my case I think you should keep a bit of a goodwill factor, because people have to buy a ticket to see my show.”

Two tons

Mark Koster also confirms that he was in negotiations. “I have been there twice and did not notice any dissatisfaction or resentment. Talpa immediately offered me a contract for a reasonable amount, adding up to around €200,000 per year. I took that for granted because nothing was clear about the format.”

“You shouldn’t draw something like that without a format and total freedom. Then Eric left and there was the end of Yvonne. Too bad. I think there is room for it.”

Called Eric

This is about Eric de Munck, the second editor-in-chief who left De Juice. Hans also had contact with him. “I politely called Eric and said that it doesn’t suit me.”

“It was a really nice offer in itself, because it was a few days a week and I think they would have done quite a bit to have us there as a ‘jury team’, but it was much too far away from me.”
