In the game between Hannover-Burgdorf and Magdeburg there is a disturbing scene on the field. In the spotlight: Hanover-Burgdorf’s Justus Fischer.
The handball fans in the ZAG Arena were hoping for another spectacle – and they got it. But after a nerve-wracking duel against SC Magdeburg, TSV Hannover-Burgdorf ended up with no points again. In the Daikin Handball Bundesliga, the hosts lost 22:24 (8:8) on Sunday.
But the game also had a shocking moment, just shortly after half-time: around 30 seconds after the restart, Hanover’s national player Justus Fischer suddenly felt sick. The pivot threw up on the field, held his jersey over his mouth and ran towards the locker room. He stayed there and never returned to the field. A helper had to clean the area with a white towel.
Despite the incident, the game turned into a real crime thriller – with the better ending for Magdeburg. For Hannover-Burgdorf, after thrilling home duels against SCM in recent years, this time it was a close but disappointing result.
