Hannover 96 committed the eleventh access with Waniss Taïbi from the French second division club Rodez Af. According to French media reports, the Lower Saxony transfer one million euros plus bonuses to Rodez, which has also secured a participation in resale. He replaces Benedikt Pichler as the most expensive obligation for the 2025/26 season. Taïbi signed until 2029.

Taïbi has played for Rodez since summer 2023 and had its share in 32 games with nine goal participation in 32 games that the club was reluctant to relegate. Its market value increased from 800,000 to 1.5 million euros in the course of the season. The 23 -year -old offensive midfielder also has the experience of 20 missions in Ligue 1, which he all completed for Angers.

“Waniss is a player who brings what is necessary in the central midfield. He is very ball -safe and extremely running. He is an offensive player who likes to switch on in the last third and is able to bridge the opposing lines with the ball on the foot, stage the offensive series or to successfully search for the goal. But he is certainly not yet at the end of his development.

Taïbi explained: “I am happy to be part of this path that Hannover 96 has hit. It is an exciting challenge for me. 96 is a club with a long and successful history, and not least because of that also ambitious about the goals. I have heard a lot about the club and the fans. I am happy to meet them all in the stadium soon. Get to know teammates and the staff. “

Under the new Hanover coach Christian Titz, who had an offensive 3-4-3 playing in Magdeburg, Taïbi is eligible for the two positions behind the only tip. There he was today with Jannik Rochelt, Hyun-Ju Lee and Marius Wörl compete. Above all, 96 would like to benefit from his offensive qualities, because last season the Lower Saxony only scored 41 goals – only the last four teams in the table cheered less frequently.
