The importer emphasizes that there is no fire risk in the device.
Hanna found a swollen spare power supply in the box. He had not used the device for more than a month. Iltalehti reader
Iltalehti reader Hannah He told his cleaning on Thursday his cabinets and surprised him as he opened the bedroom box.
There was a wave-brand backup power supply in the box. The backup power supply had been unused for a month at the bottom of the box. According to him, it had begun to swell and looked like it could soon pop.
– I was very surprised that if this had been hidden even longer, I would probably have ignited the whole house.
Hanna says she bought a backup power supply a few years ago. Prior to its expansion, the backup power supply had worked properly. This is the third device of the same brand that Hanna owns.
– The backup power supply has indeed been in a month box and room temperature, says Hanna.
So far, Hanna has not been in contact with her soil.
For a moment, Hanna had put the backup power out of the snow. He was worried about whether it could have ignited the fire.
– I wonder if it would come on, Hanna thinks.
No fire risk
The importer of Wave products is Bat Power Oy from Finnish. CEO of the company Tommi Järvinen says that if there is a fault in the backup power supplies, they may be bulging.
The safety valves of the device allow the bulging to cause the gas and prevent overheating.
– The safety valves do not cause any danger. So this is a defective product, but there is no risk of fire, says Järvinen.
– We give the customer a new product to replace, but of course we must know what the model is. We have our own factory -level maintenance, where we can analyze the device more closely and find out what may have caused the fault.
According to Järvinen, the bulging of backup power supplies is extremely rare. But if the product is used incorrectly, it drips or gets wet, bulging is possible.
– We have the fault percentage of the products at a million level. But it may always be that the defective product is for sale. More likely faults are more likely, Järvinen says.
According to Järvinen, all of their AC Vave products have gone through Fimko’s security testing.
– I remind you that bulging is not a security risk. But of course we replace the product, Järvinen says.
The devices imported by Bat Power are mainly manufactured in China. According to Järvinen, the company has worked closely with Chinese factories for over thirty years.
– We have audited the factories and visit there every year on site. We monitor the quality of the products, packaging and the appearance of the products are designed in Finland. Quality control is absolutely important to us, says Järvinen.
