The German handball players prevailed against Iceland in a very close game. See the crucial scenes in the video.

Germany won its opening game of the main round with 26:24 against Iceland. Goalkeeper Andreas Wolff was once again convincing.

The duel with his home country was particularly emotional for DHB coach Alfred Gíslason. His family came to the Lanxess Arena in Cologne wearing the Icelandic jersey.

The game quickly developed into a nail-biter, with the better ending for the German team.
