Germany finally wants to win a big title again at the European Handball Championships. This is the game plan for the tournament.

When the European Handball Championship takes place in Denmark, Sweden and Norway from January 15th to February 1st, the German national handball team also wants to attack again at the 2026 European Handball Championship. The DHB selection has been waiting for a major international title for ten years now.

National coach Alfreð Gíslason wants to emulate his Icelandic compatriot Dagur Sigurðsson, who led the German team to the European Championship title in 2016, and end the German title drought. With the silver medal at the 2024 Olympic Games, he and his team were already very close.
