Handball EM: Spain sovereign – Norway blunders

Defending champions Spain won the top game in the European Championship preliminary round group E against the World Cup runners-up Sweden with 32:28 (17:14) and thus set course for the main round.

After the second success in the tournament, the 2020 European champion has 4:0 points. Olympic bronze medalist Norway experienced a nasty surprise. In Group F, the Scandinavians surprisingly lost to Russia 22:23 (12:14) and can therefore no longer afford to slip up in the further course of the finals.

Olympic champion France, on the other hand, also solved his second tournament task with ease. The record world champion easily prevailed in Group C against the Ukraine with 36:23 (17:11) and now has 4:0 points.

After the opening defeat against the French, Croatia, second in the European Championship, got the chance to advance with a 23:20 (11:9) against Serbia.

Defending champions Denmark continue to perform well in the finals in Hungary and Slovakia. The 2019 and 2021 world champions won against Slovenia 34:23 (16:14) and lead Group A with 4:0 points.
