After VZV from ‘t Veld and SEW from Nibbixwoud, ZAP is the next association from a small Noord-Hollands village that secures a Eredivisieplaats. “That village character is our strength,” says Baars. “Opponents often say that it is not always the best, but we form a team that never gives up.”
At the start of the season, promotion was not immediately ZAP’s objective. “No, certainly not. I like to set small goals. We initially wanted to get the champion pool,” says Baars. “But when we succeeded, we always wanted a step more. The discharge after the promotion was bizarre.”

“I live in Julianadorp and you also have that village in Breezand,” the 39-year-old Baars continues. “Here we have a group of volunteers who build everything up every competition, the former chairman films all duels and the speaker has been the same for thirty years. Everyone is contributing.”
