The TBV Lemgo Lippe significantly conquered and continued in the OWL derby in the Handball Bundesliga GWD Minden and continued its series of success.

The Lemgoer prevailed on Saturday evening with 34:24 (17:12) and were therefore undefeated in the seventh competitive game in a row.

The OWL derby took place in front of 2,132 spectators in the district sports hall Lübbecke, where the Mindeners are currently playing their home games because the local Kampa hall is being renovated.

Due to a strong defensive performance, Lemgo dominated the initial phase. In the eleventh minute of play, Niels met 6-2 for the guests.

However, the Mindeners, who are currently weakened by injury failures of some players, showed morality and strong nerves. GWD fought back rapidly, in the 14th minute GWD lawyer Jan Malte scored the 6: 6.

In the final phase of the first half, the guests became more bite again and forced some ball losses from the Minden. In the 29th minute, Minden’s Philipp Vormicek only hit the crossbar from the back area, on the other hand, Leve Carstensen scored from left on the outside of 16:12 for the TBV.

Simak hits from a distance

A few seconds before half -time, the Lemgoer Frederik Simak surprised the GWD goalkeeper Tibor Ivanisevic and his fronters when he almost threw on the goal from the center line – the ball still ticked and landed on the net. So Lemgo went into the half-time break with a five-goal lead.

In the second half, the TBV continued to act and left no doubt about her will: Bobby Schagen (32nd) and Carstensen (33.) increased the guest lead with their goals.

Lemgo remains confident

GWD coach Aaron Ziercke and his team could no longer put the sovereign guests into trouble. Instead, Lemgo continued to show up in the mood: in the end the Lemgoer cheered into a derby victory with ten goals.

Three days after the victory in the DHB Cup, Lemgo rounded off a further away win in Lübbecke a week. The shaped team of TBV coach Florian Kehrmann occupies third place in the table, at least until Sunday. The last TBV defeat so far was August 29th against Magdeburg.

GWD Minden, on the other hand, received the fifth defeat in a row and ranks in 16th place in the table. The green-whites were eliminated from the DHB Cup on Wednesday. A ray of hope for GWD in the duel with the TBV was the Bundesliga debut of newcomer Morten Hempel Jensen, who is supposed to enliven the left back.

GWD now has to go to Berlin

Both teams are again in the Bundesliga on October 12: Minden will be a guest at the Füchsen Berlin from 4:30 p.m., while TBV welcomes TVB Stuttgart at the same time.
