The Füchse Berlin are racing from victory to victory in the handball Bundesliga and have further extended their starting record in the top game. The league leaders won against cup winners Rhein-Neckar Löwen on Thursday evening (October 12, 2023) with 38:32 (17:14).
It was the ninth success in the ninth game; the club has never had such a successful start to a season. At the top of the table, the Füchse are now setting the pace with 18 points, and as the 9th matchday progresses, surprise team MT Melsungen (14) and Champions League winners SC Magdeburg (13) can at least keep up. For the Lions (9) it was the next defeat after the bitter 26:29 at newly promoted ThSV Eisenach.
Berlin’s backcourt player Mathias Gidsel was once again the outstanding player, the Dane sometimes scored from the most difficult positions and led his team to victory with eleven goals. The game got away from the guests as the game went on, and at times it was a show of force from the Foxes.
TVB Stuttgart surprises again
TVB Stuttgart achieved their next victory four days after their surprise win against SG Flensburg-Handewitt (34:31). The Swabians won 36:31 (19:14) at HSV Hamburg and climbed from the bottom of the table into midfield for the time being.
