Handball Bundesliga: Flensburg-Handewitt dominates VfL Gummersbach

VfL Gummersbach experienced a bitter evening in the handball Bundesliga. The SG Flensburg-Handewitt showed the Oberbergische the limits. In addition to VfL, TBV Lemgo Lippe also suffered a defeat.

The Gummersbachers lost 32:42 (13:23) against SG Flensburg-Handewitt in front of their home crowd on Saturday evening. No opposing team has conceded as many goals to VfL so far this season.

TBV Lemgo Lippe narrowly loses in Hanover

TBV coach Florian Kehrmann’s team started the game well and led 7:4 after ten minutes of play. But then the home team shifted gears and turned the game around with a 9-3 run. Hannover-Burgdorf went into the half-time break with a 17:14 lead.

Lemgo fought hard in the second half and was able to equalize to 26:26 in the 50th minute. But in the final phase, Hannover-Burgdorf was the more stubborn team in front of 5,603 spectators in their home hall and defeated the guests from Lipperland.

The best goalscorer of the game was TBV left winger Samuel Zehnder. Lemgo’s goalkeeper Finn Zecher also showed a convincing performance with eight saves. Three players saw the red card: Hanover’s Ilija Brozovic (42nd minute) and Vincent Büchner (43rd) within less than two minutes and Lemgo’s Frederik Simak (55th).

TBV now against Eisenach

The TBV Lemgo Lippe occupies 13th place in the table Handball-Bundesliga. The next opponent is ThSV Eisenach on Thursday, November 30th.
