The Bergische HC kept up well in Göppingen for a long time, but in the end they deservedly had to admit defeat. The low-scoring game ended with 21:26 (11:11) from the Lions’ perspective.
On the 9th matchday it was the eighth defeat for the promoted team. The BHC remains in second-to-last place in the table for the time being. The guests’ best thrower was right winger Yannick Fraatz with six goals. 14 saves from goalkeeper Christopher Rudeck kept the BHC in the game for a long time, but it wasn’t enough to win a point.
Balanced first half
In the first half, the guests held up excellently and annoyed Göppingen with their good defense. The BHC even led by one goal at times in the middle of the first half and went into the locker room in a hard-fought game with the score at 11:11.
The Bergische team also got into the second half well and kept the game open. A weak phase in the middle of the second half allowed Göppingen to take a four-goal lead for the first time (43rd, 18:14). The BHC was able to reduce the deficit in the meantime, but Göppingen’s victory was no longer in real danger.
Cellar duel against Leipzig awaits the BHC
On the next matchday the BHC welcomes SC DHfK Leipzig. A real basement duel awaits against the team currently bottom of the table on Saturday (7 p.m., October 25, 2025).
