Alex de V. (51) from Den Bosch has received 15 years in prison and TBS with compulsory treatment for the murder of his friend Maikel Kievits (46). The court in Den Bosch ruled this on Wednesday. The V. killed Kievits with a hammer. According to the court, the 58-year-old girlfriend of the victim, Nicole S., is complicit in the murder because she gave permission and did not stop Alex de V.. She was sentenced to three years and four months.
Maikel lived with his girlfriend Nicole in a rental house in the Brugstraat in Den Bosch. Alex also stayed there temporarily, because he had been put out of the house by his girlfriend. On September 2, 2023, the men went outside in the evening. Maikel came home drunk around midnight and immediately lay down in bed. Alex came home an hour later and was very angry. He hit a hole in the table and said “that he had been used again by him.”
Fingers in the ears and TV hard
Alex asked Nicole if she agreed that he would make her Maikel off. She thought about this for a while, then gave permission and sat down in the front room with her fingers in her ears and the TV hard.
Alex took a hammer, walked to Maikel’s bedroom and hit him many times on his head. Then he went to Nicole in the front room and said, “It happened, he died.” When Maikel still crushed, Alex walked back to the bedroom and pressed a pillow against his face.
Alex and Nicole then tacitly sat next to each other on the couch all night and later went out of buttocks and buy beer outside. Only before eleven in the morning did Alex called his supervisor and later 112.
The court believes that there is premeditation to kill Maikel, and therefore of murder. Alex asked the woman’s permission for her friend to kill the dead, he waited for her answer to this and took a hammer on the upper floor of the house.
When determining the punishment, the court took into account that Alex has been convicted of threats, vandalism and abuse more often. According to a psychiatrist and a psychologist, he suffers from a morbid disorder. The court therefore regards him as a reduced imputable. In addition to the prison sentence of fifteen years, the Alex court also imposes TBS with compulsory treatment because the chance of repeating is high.
According to the court, Nicole had a very bad, but also very limited role. She will receive a prison sentence of three years and four months for this. She too is greatly reduced imputable due to an intellectual disability and various disorders. She eventually told the truth against the police, so that the relatives know the true facts of the death.
Both penalties are the same as the penalties that the public prosecutor demanded during the hearing two weeks ago.
