The Hamburg retail group Tchibo has appointed Hamid Dastmalchian as the new managing director for non-food.
He will take up his new position effective June 1 and will succeed Ulf Brettschneider, who is leaving the company “at his own request”, Tchibo GmbH announced on Monday.
Dastmalchian comes from our own ranks. He joined Tchibo in 2006 as Director Sourcing Nonfood. Since then he has been able to gain experience in various management positions in non-food purchasing, product management and the coffee sector.
“I would like to thank Ulf Brettschneider for his successful work and the implementation of numerous measures to transform the non-food business,” says Werner Weber, CEO of Tchibo. “I am very much looking forward to continuing the close and good cooperation with Hamid Dastmalchian in the management board.”
