The Hamburg clothing supplier Iluxi GmbH is said to have filed for bankruptcy. The former head of H&M Germany and CEO of Esprit Europe Edgar Rosenberger is behind the company.
The insolvency proceedings were opened on December 9th at the responsible district court in Hamburg, according to a message from the court dated December 11th, 2024, which was published by the online portal Auctionskalender.de. Attorney Michael Kuleisa from the law firm Schwemer Titz & Tötter was appointed as the responsible insolvency administrator.
The background to the insolvency was a failed financing round, reported various media, including the trade magazine Textilwirtschaft. However, the business operations of the Iluxi web shop will continue for the time being.
According to his own statements, Rosenberger only started the brand on the career network Linkedin in May 2023. He has also been self-employed with his management consultancy Retail Brand Services for more than 23 years. Before that, he headed the Hamburg brand Ipuri for eleven years – until 2002 – which filed for bankruptcy in July 2002. Further positions included the clothing retailer Esprit, where he was Europe CEO from 1987 to 1991, and the Swedish fashion chain H&M, where he was Managing Director for Germany in the early 80s.
Iluxi and Kuleisa have not yet responded to a respective request from FashionUnited.
