The Palestinian militant group Hamas released the names of three Israeli hostages on Friday who are released on Saturday in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. It is about the fifth exchange since the file between Israel and Hamas came into effect on January 19.

Hostages Ohad Ben Ami, Eli Sharabi and OR Levy will be released, Hamas announced via Telegram. Israel would release 183 Palestinian prisoners, according to Hamas’s media office.

In the exchanges, thirteen Israeli hostages have been released so far, as well as five Thai workers who were abducted during the Hamas attack and 583 Palestinian prisoners.

Despite some setbacks, the stakes of 42 days, which is accompanied by an exchange of hostages against prisoners, has held up so far. The file was reached with the support of the US and after mediation by Egypt and Qatar.

Hamas fighters take positions for a release of hostages on 1 February in Khan Younis, in the south of the Gaza Strip.
