49 percent of the world’s bird species are declining due to humans and climate change. One in eight is in danger of extinction. Worldwide, only 6 percent of bird species are increasing. The uninspiring conclusions are contained in the new State of the World’s Birds report, which is published every four years. Among us, the swift is endangered.
