This news from Finland is shocking. Fans destroyed parts of their own club’s stadium.

Football fans and their favorite club – we’ve heard the craziest stories. In Finland, the love for their club has now apparently turned into sheer destructiveness. Because FC Haka was relegated from the first division, its own supporters are said to have torched the stadium.

A grandstand is said to have been completely destroyed. The flames are also said to have damaged parts of the artificial turf, as the Finnish radio station “yle” reports. The police are investigating – and announced initial findings. Namely, that three children under the age of 15 were at the crime scene. One of the suspects is said to have confessed to being responsible for part of the fire.

However, the minors probably don’t have to fear a punishment, because according to Finnish criminal law, people under 15 are not punished.

How much damage will ultimately be is still unclear. However, according to Marko Laaksonen, club boss of FC Haka, it should be considerable. “We definitely didn’t need that. We have already received a lot of support from people and will continue to need it in the future,” Laaksonen is quoted as saying by “yle”.
