Especially later tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow evening, the showers may be accompanied by strong gusts of wind, hail and heavy rainfall. This can lead to local nuisance and damage.
Calm before the storm
“It remains quiet in North Holland today,” says NH weatherman Jan Visser. Clouds will increase during the afternoon, but it is expected to remain dry. The temperature is about 22 degrees.
Tomorrow morning it will be cloudy and there may be a heavy shower here and there. Later in the morning the sun may break through for a while and the temperature will remain around 21 degrees.
Code yellow for heavy thunderstorms
The KNMI has issued a code yellow for tomorrow afternoon between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM. During that period, heavy thunderstorms pass over the country from the south. Wind gusts of up to approximately 70 kilometers per hour are possible.
The showers appear to be moving mainly towards the northeast of the Netherlands, which may limit the impact in North Holland. Yet Jan Visser keeps his distance. “Last Friday things suddenly went wild, so we don’t rule anything out.”
Showers continue
The showers will continue for the rest of the week, accompanied by quite a lot of wind. In addition, the temperature drops to about 17 degrees.
