The Berlin fashion label Haderlump has a new partner. According to a statement published on Wednesday, entrepreneur Marc Sasserath has joined the brand with his investment company Sasserath 1871. The company said the stake was “small but substantial”.
Sasserath, who opened his own concept store in Berlin with his Supermarque brand in the summer, is bringing in “not only capital, but above all strategic and organizational competence as well as an extensive network,” according to the statement. However, the “specific development of new markets and further growth steps” remains “firmly in the hands of the design and founding team” around Johann Ehrhardt and Julius Weissenborn.
The “holistic approach that connects capital, skills and ecosystem” should help “to further develop the brand in an evolutionary manner and at the same time protect it from hasty growth,” the company said. The aim is “internationally oriented growth that preserves Haderlump’s creative identity”.
Sasserath explained the investment in a statement. “The aesthetic approach, the partnership between Johann and Jules, the strong team and the consistent sustainability claim, especially the work with deadstock materials, make Haderlump unique. In addition, there is a community that is second to none,” he explained. Haderlump recently announced that it would open its first flagship store in Berlin on November 29th.
