The wood festival was also in need and therefore has to improvise. It even made itself worry about the survival. Or about a future in which visitors have to buy tickets and there are fences around the site. That is at odds with the open character.
Wood night to other location
The Houtnacht, traditionally the evening before the Houtfestival, is not on the program this year. Renske Leijten, chairman of the festival, nuances that. “There will be a wood night, but not in the Haarlemmerhout.”
“Normally they, the young people, use tents and equipment that are already there for the festival. That is not possible now. They will move to another place. Where is not yet known.”
