Affordability of social housing
NH often receives responses and questions about the affordability of social housing. So here are the facts about the new residential area:
The first residential tower in Oostpoort will be completely filled with one- or two-person homes of approximately fifty square meters. A rent of 600 to 800 euros is requested for this. The maximum rent for social housing for 2024 has been set at 879.66 euros.
To be eligible for these homes, the income may not exceed 47,699 euros per year for a single-person household or 52,671 for a multi-person household.
The maximum rental allowance for singles is 368 euros per month. For cohabiting couples there is a maximum of 321 euros.
According to Ruben van de Spek van Ymere, new social rental properties also have the advantage that they are built very sustainably and therefore have lower energy costs.
