Swimming pool Haan Sjakie has become the great darling of the swimmers in the De Bosselaar outdoor pool in Zevenbergen in a short time. De Haan has been a permanent residents of the swimming pool since April. But with the end of the swimming season in sight, Sjakie has to look for a new home.

Suddenly Sjakie was at the swimming pool, just before the opening of the swimming pool season. He was then still company of a counterpart. “Actually there were two, a chicken and a rooster. In the end De Haan is still over and the chicken that flew,” says swimming pool team leader Ryanne Boogaard against Southwest TV. The staff has placed another call; Hoping to find the owner of the decorative chickens.

Unfortunately, there were no responses to that. Since then, the animal has been living on the swimming pool site. Sjakie does not have to worry about nutrition, Boogaard says. In addition to the grain that he gets from the staff, bathers also regularly give something to eat. Including a little chips, one of the children present tells.

“Nice beast, he is funny and has beautiful feathers, it looks cool.”

Although some guests think the animal does not belong at a swimming pool, it is appreciated by most people. “They think it’s funny. I think he has become everyone his boyfriend,” says the team leader.

The children who hang around the pool can confirm that. “Everyone is friends with him,” says one of the boys laughing. His friend responds with: “Nice beast, he is funny and has beautiful feathers, he looks cool.”

According to the young people, Sjakie really belongs to the swimming pool, but with the end of the summer period in sight, a new home must be found for De Haan. “The bath will close in two weeks so then we will no longer be here every day. So we are actually looking for a good home for him.”

That is why the swimming pool team has one Call posted on Facebook. Dozens of people responded. “On September 7 we have the dog pattern, so it would be nice if he was gone. Then there are a lot of dogs here and I am afraid he will not survive.” If all goes well, Sjakie will move to a new accommodation this weekend.
