Gymshark appoints former Asos CFO Mat Dunn

Mat Dunn is taking on the role of Chief Financial Officer at Gymshark.

Dunn will take up the position in early 2023, the sportswear brand announced on Tuesday. He takes over for Philip Daw and reports directly to CEO Ben Francis.

In mid-August, it was announced that Dunn would step down from his previous positions as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Asos. He will remain active in these functions at the British clothing retailer until at least the end of October. He will remain with the company through the end of the year and then move to Gymshark in 2023.

“In Mat we get one of the best CFOs, not just in retail, but in business worldwide. His track record of growth at ASOS, Britvic and SABMiller speaks for itself,” said Gymshark founder Francis. “He will bring a new dimension to our finances and Gymshark as a whole and will undoubtedly help us become the company I believe we can be.”

With the appointment of Dunn as chief financial officer, Gymshark continues to drive its senior management reorganization. In April 2021, Danielle Petesic, who previously worked for Lululemon, became Chief Product Officer. A month later, John Douglas joined Gymshark from Tory Burch and took on the role of chief technology officer, according to his Linkedin profile. Carly O’Brien joined Gymshark in June 2022 as VP Marketing, International.
