At the Alkmaar club Ritmica/RG, where these five girls train, the blow hits hard. “You have one task and you don’t do it,” says a disappointed Indy Veltman NOS. “I just can’t get my head around that.”
The association should have registered the Dutch team before March 2, but forgot to do so. The draw took place on March 6, after which coaches from the Alkmaar club noticed that the Dutch participants were not included in the draw.
Due to the blunder, Amina Abdumalik, Anne Werner, Adriana Bondarenko, Indy Veltman and Noa van der Laan of the Alkmaar gymnastics club will miss the European Championships.
