World Championship debutant Karina Schönmaier from Bremen can take part in the all-around final at the Gymnastics World Championships in Liverpool in the evening (7:45 p.m. CET).

The 17-year-old, who was the second reserve for the decision of the 24 best all-rounders in the preliminary competition after qualifying on Sunday, slipped into the starting field at short notice a few hours before the start of the competition due to several cancellations.

Schönmaier will be the only representative of the German Gymnastics Federation (DTB) there. The two European champions Elisabeth Seitz from Stuttgart and Emma Malewski from Chemnitz had not shown a complete four-way battle in the British port city. Lukas Dauser from Unterhaching will compete in the men’s all-around final on Friday (7:00 p.m.).
