Gwyneth Paltrow Goes Naked as a ‘Golden Goddess’

Gwyneth Paltrow turned 50 on September 27 – and the actress is celebrating with a very special post: she published a photo on Instagram where she can be seen in side profile, naked and covered in gold paint. She wrote accompanied by two star emojis: “50”.

The photo was taken as part of a photo shoot for her wellness and lifestyle company Goop. On the Goop blog, she explained why she chose to pose as what her make-up artist called her “golden goddess”: “I feel so good turning 50 and this is about that feeling of Expressing the energy and optimism that I’m experiencing,” Paltrow said. It was also about having fun. “It’s more about the female gaze and just having fun,” she added.

“I think aging is a beautiful thing”

The actress also shared why society’s perception of the process of aging should change: “I think aging is actually a beautiful thing. We just have to open our perceptions. When you become more yourself, life really opens up”. In the process, she compared her current personality to that of the past: “I hurt people, never on purpose, but I did it anyway. I let people down because I wasn’t what they needed me to be. I betrayed myself to keep the peace.”

For her future, she wishes to “slow down” and “withdraw” something from the public. In her next 50 years, she wants to live by a “higher standard of compassion.” With that in mind, the actress seems to be on the right track: she last starred in the Marvel movie Avengers: Endgame three years ago. She played Virginia “Pepper” Potts, Iron Man’s partner.
