Former Open VLD chairman Gwendolyn Rutten is quitting national politics. She said this herself in a statement. She will remain mayor of Aarschot. According to Rutten, it recently became clear that the current party leadership at Open Vld no longer sees a meaningful role for her. “So be it, that is the fate of every politician. The disrespectful way in which that happened did contribute to my decision,” he said.
