Nobody wants to be today, but back then there were quite a few people who thought Guns N ‘Roses was average hard rock band, the debut of which was not much better than that of Faster Pussycat.
In the Metal hammer In 1987, “Appetite for Destruction” received three out of seven points, it was recommended to buy “Electric” from The Cult. In the meantime, everyone knows that – in addition to “Born in the USA” and “The Joshua Tree” – it was the rock album of the decade: one of these records that everyone can agree on if necessary. And that is not due to the hairstyles or tattoos or the rather silly slogan of the “Most Dangerous Band in the World”.

From the initial scream in “Welcome to the Jungle” to the noise stories of “Nighttrain” and “Mr. Brownstone to the hymn “Paradise City” and the moaning of “Rocket Queen” is “Appetites” a single sequence of hits.

No other album describes a life between rock clubs and striplocals, in the middle of dealers and light girls, in a cloud of hairspray and whiskey vapor. And they also had love songs – especially “Sweet Child O’Mine”, with whose reef Slash suddenly made himself immortal.
