After ZZ and De Maskers split up, De Hont played in the band September for a while before joining Freek de Jonge and Bram Vermeulen. Together with Thé Lau, among others, De Hont formed the backing band of the cabaret duo. Later he was also a member of De Toekomst, Vermeulen’s backing band.

Furthermore, De Hont was a much sought-after session musician. He collaborated with artists such as Jan Rot, Fay Lovsky, Frank Boeijen and Boudewijn de Groot.
