The US fashion group Guess Inc. is expanding into India.
The company is entering the Indian market through a multi-year franchise partnership with multi-category e-commerce platform Tata CLiQ, Guess announced on Tuesday. As part of the collaboration, Tata CLiQ will become the official retailer for Guess Jeans in India. In addition, the brand’s retail presence will be expanded through brick-and-mortar stores and digital platforms to create a comprehensive omnichannel presence.
The new partnership, initiated by the Indian subsidiary Guess? India Pvt Ltd. is implemented, plays a crucial role in expanding sales channels. It supports Guess Jeans’ strategy to expand its nationwide store network and marks a significant milestone for the company, the statement said.
“The heritage of our brand, our tradition and innovative view of denim, combined with the local knowledge and expertise of the Tata Group, guarantee a strong and lasting partnership,” said Nicolai Marciano, Chief New Business Development Officer of Guess Inc. “Guess Jeans will complement Guess’ existing portfolio in India and create significant growth. With affordable prices, a casual aesthetic and a modern communication strategy, we are reaching out to a new clientele.”
