Gonçalo Guedes will spend the rest of the current season at Villarreal FC. The 27-year-old offensive player is once again changing clubs on loan. After spending the last twelve months at Benfica Lisbon, Guedes is now trying his hand at table 15th. of the Spanish House of Lords. His home club – contractually until 2027 – is Wolverhampton, which signed him from FC Valencia in 2022 for 32.6 million euros.
Guedes once increased his market value to 40 million euros (at the beginning of 2018), but the right-footer from Portugal is now valued at 18 million euros. In the current season he only played 274 minutes in 14 Benfica games under coach Roger Schmidt. Guedes can now add more to the 146 LaLiga appearances he played for Valencia. So far, transfer fees totaling around 103 million euros have been paid for the former PSG professional – only for four Portuguese players was more put on the table for all transfers combined.
