Groningen will hoist the transgender flag on the Martinitoren for the first time today, Thursday 31 March. The flag is raised on the occasion of International Transgender Visibility Day. By raising the flag, the municipality of Groningen wants to send a message to transgenders: ‘You are Groningen regardless.’
