Groningen chooses this for the provincial council. Follow the results of the elections and see how people voted in your municipality

The polling places are closed. The votes are counted. In the exit poll of research agency Ipsos, the BoerBurgerBeweging is the largest nationwide in the election of the provincial council. Follow the results here and see how Groningen voted.

The exit poll: who will lead?

At the exit of dozens of polling stations in three selected provinces (North Holland, Overijssel and North Brabant) Ipsos employees are sitting with a ‘ballot box’. They ask voters to repeat, as it were, their vote that they just cast. These ‘exit polls’ often give a reasonable picture of the national winner of the elections, with a margin of one or two seats. The BoerBurgerBeweging is the largest in all three polls.

This is what people in your municipality vote for

The first results were received in municipalities around 10 p.m. The competition for ‘fastest’ municipality was again won by Schiermonnikoog. There Results in major cities often don’t come before midnight. On the map below you can see the results as soon as they are known.

Distribution of seats by the Provincial Council and the Senate

After midnight, the first ‘preliminary forecasts’ of the distribution of seats in the twelve Provincial States and the Senate will be published. These forecasts are more accurate than the exit polls. After all, they are based on actual results.

The results will be tightened after the election evening and night, but they will not be final until March 24. Then the Electoral Council has confirmed them. The Senate will be announced later. The twelve Provincial States will not choose this until May 30.
