Change officially
Greuther Fürth strengthened the defense again with Damian Michalski shortly before the end of the transfer. The 24-year-old arrives from Ekstraklasa club Wisla Plock and has been given a contract until June 30, 2025 with an option for another season. According to Polish media, the fee is 500,000 euros plus bonuses. Wisla Plock is also said to have secured a resale participation of 10 percent.
“In Damian we get an experienced and physically strong central defender who also has a lot of potential. We are pleased that we were able to find a solution that was good for all parties,” said sporting director Rachid Azzouzi. Coach Marc Schneider added: “We are convinced that Damian can bring his qualities to us and give the defense stability. Due to his size and strength in the ball, he also exudes danger on the offensive. He comes in good shape and has played very well this season.”
Michalski himself said: “I’m really looking forward to the next chapter of my career. The second division in Germany is of great quality – and I want to tackle this challenge together with the team.”
Serdecznie witamy, Damian!
