Greuther Fürth gets photovoltaics on the stadium roof

Second division soccer team SpVgg Greuther Fürth is leading the way in the energy crisis.

The cloverleaves want to install a photovoltaic system on the roof of the main stand of their stadium by November at the latest and thus cover around 60 percent of the demand from renewable energies.

“We have already been very resource-saving in recent years and have now further intensified these measures,” said Managing Director Holger Schwiewagner: “We began at the beginning of the year to bring forward various measures that were planned for the medium term.”

Other measures such as e-mobility not only make a contribution to the energy transition, but are also economically worthwhile for the people of Fürth.

“Instead of the expected additional costs of well over 30 percent, these items will probably remain well below 10 percent until 2024,” says the association’s press release.
