Nika Prevc, winner of the overall World Cup

As of: May 8, 2026 • 1:01 p.m

Just in time for the 75th Four Hills Tournament, women will be part of the traditional ski jumping event for the first time. The world association Fis confirmed the upcoming premiere at the committee meeting in Portoroz, Slovenia.

The dates planned are December 28th in Oberstdorf, December 31st in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, January 2nd, 2027 in Innsbruck and January 5th, 2027 in Bischofshofen. The women’s competitions take place on the men’s qualification day.

“When we started creating the season calendar, our goals were clear: to expand our global presence and create synergies between the men’s and women’s tours. I am very pleased that the plan reflects exactly these intentions,” said race director Sandro Pertile.

Fis President: “A milestone”

The Four Hills Tournament replaces the Two-Nights Tour, which in recent years connected the two stops in Germany around the turn of the year. At the locations in Austria, the lack of floodlights was the central problem for years.

Fis President Johan Eliasch calls the introduction of the women’s tour “a true milestone in the history of ski jumping and winter sports as a whole.” The aim of the Fis is to gradually align the calendars of men and women, analogous to biathlon.

Several Mixed competitions planned

In the coming World Cup season there will be mixed competitions in Lillehammer, Norway, Willingen, Sapporo, Japan and Lake Placid in the USA. The World Cup takes place from February 24th to March 7th in Falun, Sweden.
