The Ebro Hydrographic Confederation (CHE) has given the approval this Monday to the proposal to guarantee survival irrigation during the month of June in the Urgell canal and in the Segarra Garrigues for the fruit trees of both systems.

The entity has approved that the first have 12.5 cubic hectometres of water, while 2 will be allocated for the second. The CHE has made the decision within the framework of the meeting of the Unloading Commission of the Segre Territorial Unit, which has been held in parallel to the Noguera Ribagorçana Unloading Commission. In this case, a percentage reduction in the endowment similar to the flows of the Aragón and Cataluña, Pinyana and Algerri-Balaguer canals has been agreed.
In the case of the first commission, a new meeting has also been agreed to start planning in July. In both systems, the Urgell canal and Segarra Garrigues, the entity affirms that the estimated volume destined for human and animal supply will be guaranteed.
