A young deer was found without a head in the Kluisbos in Kluisbergen, East Flanders, on Tuesday. The head had been “cut straight off with a knife”. This is what Dieter Maes from the Green Department who had to collect the animal said. Police are now investigating whether someone deliberately decapitated the animal to take the head home as a trophy. “At first we thought it was an unfortunate accident,” says Alderman for Animal Welfare Thijs Cousaert (Municipal Interests).
