The Greek border guard arrested about 1,300 suspected people smugglers along the Evros, on the border with Turkey, last year. About 256,000 refugees were prevented from crossing the river to enter the European Union. That is what the Greek Minister of Civil Protection Takis Theodorikakos said on Saturday on radio station Skai.
