Cyclist with trauma helicopter removed after collision
The report that cyclist Amy Pieters was seriously injured during a collision within the team, reached her SD Worx sports director, Danny Stam, on Thursday afternoon. Pieters had stayed behind in Calpe after a training camp with her road team SD Worx, to further prepare for the Dutch National Championship track next week with the Dutch track selection. During the very last training it went wrong. “When you get such a message, the concerns are obviously great,” said Stam.
