Trainer Jürgen Klopp said on Tuesday during a press conference ahead of Wednesday’s FA Cup match against Southampton that the injury could have been ‘a lot worse’. “But it’s bad enough that he won’t be there this game and probably the next one too. We will see.”

The 21-year-old Gravenberch was carried off the field on a stretcher after half an hour in the League Cup final. The Dutch international’s left foot collapsed in a duel with Chelsea midfielder Moisés Caicedo. After winning the final, he still showed up on the field on crutches and with a brace.
