Grave of Franz Beckenbauer redesigned

He was Germany’s largest footballer: Franz Beckenbauer died unexpectedly in January 2024. Only now did his final resting place get the final cut.
Franz Beckenbauer, trophy collector, libero-korypha, world champion coach, inventor of FC Bayern, died on January 7, 2024. It was referred to in Germany as a form of light. And one that brought the lightness into the country that we actually did not even have, as the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” wrote.
“I often get on the football business. I think of Confucius, who said: Consider the worries of the day for half an hour, and during this time a nap made a nap,” he said once. A typical pelvic builder. Football Germany seems to be poorer since his death.
Beckenbauer himself has been resting in the cemetery in the Perlacher Forest since January 2024. There, in the south of Munich, nothing earth-shattered was a matter of these days, but so much that the “Bild” newspaper sent and reported someone. Because the “emperor “‘s grave was subjected to a redesign. A planned, mind you. Because now Franz Beckenbauer’s resting place was given its finishing touch: the provisional tombstone, which was installed shortly after the funeral, has been replaced by a permanent tombstone.
The final jewelry made of black natural stone does without Pomp, only wears a Timpanon, i.e. a triangular gable reminiscent of ancient graves. This is often decorated with ornaments or inscriptions, in the Beckenbauer’s case there is simply “Beckenbauer”. In the grave, several family members, in addition to Franz Beckenbauer, also rest his father Franz (1905–1977) and his mother Antonie (1913–2006).
The grave decoration is simple, as is the tombstone. Its central motif is a Madonna that stands in a niche and folds the hands for prayer. The conspicuous portrait of Mary dominates the tomb, the widow Beckenbauers, Heidi, chose it together with the children Joel and Francesca, as “Bild” reports.
Franz Beckenbauer, who would have turned 80 on September 11, was rooted in faith throughout his life. He once said about himself: “I am Catholic. It is not only in my passport, I also live according to Christian values.” He is said to have prayed the Lord’s Prayer every day. He also believed in a life after death. “I believe that every person’s soul returns to where it came from. After all, there is space for everyone in infinite universe,” said Beckenbauer.
