Gosha Rubchinskiy brings back his brand of the same name.

The controversial designer had already announced the comeback of his own label in an Instagram post in February, now the words also follow the words. As Rubchinskiy revealed in an interview with the industry magazine Business of Fashion (BOF), he was ready to “start everything again”.

A first selection of basics, including T-shirts, jogging pants, backpacks, hoodies and bomber jackets, is already available in the brand online shop. Other articles such as jeans and coats should follow in the course of the month. In addition, Rubchinskiy told BOF that he was thinking about designing Couture, however, it does not intend to become part of the traditional fashion week calendar. Instead, he plans a “little world tour” by countries like China, Japan and the USA to personally meet his “fans”.

Although Rubchinskiy is now directly on the consumer: on the inside, he does not exclude a collaboration with multi-fire retailers: in the future. The opening of your own boutiques is also an option for the future.

Rubchinskiy back after seven years

For the designer, who founded his 2008 label of the same name, the relaunch marks the last step in a long way back into the spotlight. In 2018, his rapid ascent-which he had temporarily experienced by side with vetements co-founder Demna Gvasalia-abruptly came to a standstill after he was accused of having sent inappropriate messages to a minor. The chat courses appeared on social networks at the time. His brand then explained that the exchange was part of a casting process and was torn out of context.

Rubchinskiy still represents this attitude today. However, he emphasized to BOF to work with his own casting director in the future that would take over communication with models and agencies.

The restart is financed by capital that the designer has saved from his previous work, and by supporting friends. According to BOF, Rubchinskiy described the project as a “collective project”.

After the closure of his label, he worked as a Head of Design for Yeezy-the fashion brand by Rapper Ye-formerly Kanye West-who lost his longstanding adidas partnership in 2022 after anti-Semitic statements. The cooperation between Rubchinskiy and Ye ended at the beginning of this year and made room for a cooperation with Bikkemberg.
