Gose wins EM bronze in the 200 m freestyle

Two days after her silver race in the 800m freestyle, Isabel Gose won her second medal at the European Swimming Championships in Rome.

In the final over 200 m, the 20-year-old from Magdeburg came in third after 1:57.09 minutes. Gold went to Marrit Steenbergen from the Netherlands ahead of Freya Anderson from Britain.

It was the first German EM precious metal on this route in ten years. Gose also thinks she has a chance of winning a medal in the 400 m – at the World Championships seven weeks ago in Budapest, she was the fifth best European swimmer.
