Gorilla kills tufted monkey in Pairi Daiza in front of visitors: “Rare and sad, but perfectly normal in the animal world”

A gorilla killed a small monkey in front of visitors at Pairi Daiza animal park last Saturday. Victim Fito, a crested mangabey, was teasing the silverback Nasibu. Fito had been teasing gorillas for years, because in Pairi Daiza they share the same biotope. But Nasibu was new to the zoo and was shocked and bitten. After international consultations, it was decided not to separate the two monkey species.
