The outerwear specialist Gore-Tex has started a rental service for winter sports clothing.
The service is currently offered in 15 ski resorts and stores in North America, Gore-Tex announced on Friday. Other locations are to follow in the coming season.
“Gore-Tex Outerwear on Demand is the best choice when it comes to ease of use, performance for specific conditions and taking the next step in enjoying winter activities with legendary Gore technology without owning or transporting multiple garments,” said Chris Brennan, Product Specialist – Innovation, Fabrics Division at Gore-Tex.
All lent pieces are Gore-Tex products. The company offers rental partners an inventory service for clothing. After the rental, each garment is subjected to a multi-stage inspection, cleaned on site and packed for the next use.
“We set out to create a highly technical, highly durable line of apparel that will stand up to frequent use and cleaning, while offering consumers the Gore-Tex product experience and a convenient alternative to purchasing when it comes to gearing up for winter adventures,” he said Brennan.
